NoWa opens first circular store in De Hallen Amsterdam

NoWa opent eerste circulaire winkel in de Hallen Amsterdam

De Hallen Amsterdam has a new store: Circular Store - NoWa & Nature Bar, a unique collaboration between sustainable jewelry brand NoWa and Nature Bar, maker of 100% natural care products with circular ingredients, such as soap with orange peels from a local juice bar. This circular store brings together handmade, sustainable products in the iconic Amsterdam building and offers an artisanal shopping experience. Customers can not only buy products, but also follow workshops and hand in old phones for recycling into jewelry by NoWa. And visitors can literally take a look behind the scenes at an artisanal soap factory, because all Nature Bars are handmade in the Circular Store.

NoWa and Nature Bar both fight against waste and join forces with the Circular Store to make a circular economy accessible. The circular store offers a carefully curated selection of sustainable jewelry from NoWa, made from recycled silver and gold from discarded phones. And the 100% natural care products from Nature Bar. To contribute to less waste, they upcycle ingredients and process these circular ingredients in their high-quality skin care products. Think of a creamy body soap made from orange peels from a local juice bar.

“The materials for our jewelry are literally there for the taking,” says Josette de Vroeg, founder of NoWa. “By extracting gold and silver from old phones, we reduce the need to mine new raw materials. This not only helps the environment, but also contributes to a sustainable future.”

“We believe that the circular economy is the future and are proud to be one of the pioneers in this field. With the Circular Store we make tangible how a circular economy works and inspire people to make sustainable choices in their daily lives,” says Marlies van Heusden, founder of Nature Bar.

It also offers a stage for other circular companies, for example, the circular bouquets of Reflower adorn the space and the pop-up table literally offers a stage for other sustainable entrepreneurs. The Circular Store shows consumers how a circular economy works and inspires them to make sustainable choices in their daily lives.
